| The Ricky Rubio Saga Continues | |
It’s been one thing after another with Spanish sensation Ricky Rubio. Before the draft, it was he would only play in certain cities, then it became he turning down a chance to workout for certain teams and now that he was selected fifth overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves, the question is when he’ll arrive in Minnesota. Reports have been around stating that he’ll remain in Europe for two more seasons, the only difference is each report offers a different reason. Regardless of his reason, Minnesota now finds themselves in a waiting game with their hands tied. Rubio has been put on blast by not only the reporters in the media, but even Brandon Jennings found it his place to take shots at the guard. Saying that he’s all hype. Not many people in America have seen Rubio play and at this rate, who knows when he’ll be ready to go in the NBA. Knowing that it was a chance that Rubio could miss quite some time while being wherever it is that he’ll be, the T’wolves opted to take another point guard in Johnny Flynn with the sixth overall pick. The plan is to have the both start whenever Rubio comes over with Flynn being the off-guard, but until then, Flynn will be the one calling the shots in Minnesota. How far the T’wolves cam go ultimately relies upon how well Al Jefferson can play coming back from his injury and the development of Kevin Love and all of the other young guys on this team.
