Timberwolves ditching Al Jefferson?

Minnesota Timberwolves forward/center Al Jefferson (notes) has been with the team since 2007 and has three more years (and $42 million) left on his contract. It appears the Timberwolves don’t want to be on the hook to pay all that dough to a 25-year-old man who averaged 17.1 points and 9.3 rebounds per game last season. ESPN reports that the Wolves are trying hard to unload him and have spoken to the Indiana Pacers about a deal for Troy Murphy (notes) , to the Detroit Pistons about a deal involving Tayshaun Prince (notes) , and to the Memphis Grizzlies about a deal for Zach Randolph (notes)

Warriors may send Randolph to Timberwolves

The Golden State Warriors may be shipping forward Anthony Randolph (notes) off to the Minnesota Timberwolves this summer, according to ESPN. The 6′10" 210-pounder out of Louisiana Tech has spent two years in the league and averaged 11.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game this past season.

The Philadelphia 76ers interviewed Minnesota Timberwolves assistant Bill Laimbeer, who once led the WNBA’s Detroit Shock to three championships, and former Toronto Raptors coach Sam Mitchell for its head-coaching opening this weekend, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
