It’s certainly been a strange summer for the Timberwolves, who are coming off a 15-win season and a bit of bad lottery luck that dropped them to No. 4 in the draft.

This summer has been one of great change for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Not only have they added pieces in the draft, but through trades, the team has acquired pieces that give them depth at several positions

The Dallas Mavericks asked about Minnesota Timberwolves forward Al Jefferson before the draft last week, ESPNDallas.com reported today, citing sources close to the situation, and could make another run at him later.

Earlier this week, Minnesota Timberwolves President David Kahn made it known that Indiana Pacers President Larry Bird had sought to send the Pacers’ first round pick in the draft to obtain Johnny Flynn. Flynn had a solid rookie campaign last year for the Wolves where he averaged 13.5 points and 4.4 assists.

The Denver Nuggets are looking to get a Top 10 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, according to ESPN. The site reports that Nuggets GM Mark Warkentein has been trying to figure out which teams would be interested in such a deal and is offering guard Ty Lawson (notes) for the draft pick.

As we inch closer to draft day, opinions are changing faster than a Tim Lincecum fastball. The Minnesota Timberwolves still hold all the cards to the draft. With picks at 4, 16, 23, 45 and 56, there is no way they keep all those picks

It’s been almost a week since last Tuesday’s NBA lottery, and the Timberwolves might be realizing the complexities involved in trying to move up to the first or second pick of the June 24 draft. That is, if the club still has serious interest in Kentucky guard John Wall or Ohio State swingman Evan Turner, considered the draft’s top two prospects.
