Important Draft For T’wolves

Minnesota is lacking in major areas. They need a guard in which they can count on and is talented enough and has enough potential for them to build around. One who is capable of being a big time scorer and with the 6th overall pick, one would have to assume DeMar DeRozan orĀ  Tyreke Evans is high up on their draft board. Both are capable of being big time scorers from the shooting guard position and in Evan’s case, he’s capable of running the point guard and getting their current best guard off of the ball. As of right now, Evans would probably be the better fit as he can create for himself and others, meanwhile, DeRozan will probably be the better offensive player of the two.

The T’wolves won’t be done in the first round there as they also own the 18th and 28th picks as well, which means they can afford to pick by need. As evident when Al Jefferson went down, Minnesota could use another big body up front to go along with Jefferson and Love, one better than Shelden Williams and Craig Smith that is and they have the resources to acquire said player, even if that means trading up in the draft. It’s just food for thought as no one has reported that the Timberwolves are looking to do so. One thing is for certain though. They cannot afford to have an average draft day if they want to keep the team moving in the right direction.
